Scope of work

• Participating - with a team of local and international experts - in researching challenges to solid waste management in the city, and outlining practical management recommendations. Work involved: collecting and analyzing data, field trips, photographic surveys, interviewing employees and residents, running focus groups, preparing assessments, researching case studies, designing concept solutions, and leading participatory planning workshops.

• Designing and implementing a multi-faceted social marketing anti-littering campaign, including:

  • Forming and leading groups of Municipality officials and volunteers.
  • Developing the strategy for the campaign, using participatory planning methods.
  • Running a public awareness campaign from A-Z, including art direction, design, fundraising, book keeping, media booking, and press relations.
  • Preparing concepts for kids educational tool-kits comprised of school projects, a travelling expo, stories, games, and a website. Plus, lobbying for funding, mobilizing NGO's to adopt projects, and supervising production.
  • Organizing clean up days, preparing kits, and coordinating with partner NGOs and volunteers.
